M (Part 2) Mitchell - Mulgrew

I’m really grateful to the twenty or so of you who are sticking with me as I trawl through my convention photos and share a few memories. As promised last week, this week I can tell you all about the best smelling celebrity I ever met as we remember:

Kenneth Mitchell

Jason Momoa

Anson Mount

Kate Mulgrew

Caroline Munro

Kenneth Mitchell

Kenneth Mitchell must be one the nicest blokes you could wish to meet. Funny, self deprecating and with a twinkle in his eye that makes being in his presence a relaxing and pleasant experience. His work on Star Trek: Discovery led to him being at a Destination Star Trek event and I was glad to shake his hand and thank him for his work.

Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa is a huge star but he’s not as huge in person as you might expect. Still, he has a huge presence and even though he was not fully engaged with the process of having his photo taken umpteen times, in that brief second you had his attention and stood by his side, you got the tremendous joy of smelling whatever it was he was wearing, that made you feel you were on a tropical island. It took me all my time not to sniff him. I’m guessing that wouldn’t have gone down very well.

Anson Mount

Anson Mount is the new Captain Pike in Star Trek : Discovery and the forthcoming Star Trek : Strange New Worlds. A fine actor, and even in that short amount of time I spent in his company, he came across as a fine and decent man too.

Kate Mulgrew.

How could you go to a Star Trek convention and NOT meet Captain Janeway herself? Also remembered from various TV shows including being a murderer more than once on Murder She Wrote.  On the occasion of our meeting she did not seem to be in the best of moods. Hey, we all have bad days, she still managed a smile for the camera.

Caroline Munro

Caroline Munro is Bond girl number three of the four I met along the way. The Spy Who Loved Me was that Bond film but I also recall her in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad - I'm sure she adorned many a young chaps bedroom wall in poster form. Still glamorous and happy to chat about a long and continuing career. A pleasure to meet.

Thanks for joining me through the M’s - next time just three memories to share but one of my favourite ever moments at a convention. See you next week for:

David Naughton

Nichelle Nichols

Jason O’Mara
